INTREPID COMPANY AND CITY OF RALEIGH LAUNCH PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Latest City Project Improves Downtown Parking, Streamlines Resources, and Increases Revenue Without Impact to Citizens
Chapel Hill, NC (June 14, 2010) – Intrepid Company and the City of Raleigh have launched the City's Parking Management System. The system consists of mobile devices and applications that update a central cloud server in real-time, with web-based applications for customer service, payments, and appeals.
The Parking Management System works in conjunction with parking pay stations recently installed throughout downtown Raleigh. Together, these systems allow the City of Raleigh to bring all Parking operations in-house and maximize an existing revenue stream by increasing the collection rate of citations in a customer-friendly manner. It will also allow citizens expanded options for paying for and appealing citations.
Intrepid Company was brought in to evaluate and manage the technology selection, assist with process reengineering, provide design, operations, and technical consulting, and manage the implementation. The project is the latest in a relationship between Intrepid Company and the City that dates back to 2003.
"This system will bring major improvements to the City of Raleigh," said Joe Procopio, CEO of Intrepid Company. "We've already heard feedback in the press about more spaces being available downtown now that the officers are able to more efficiently enforce the time limits. They can actually spend less time hunting down violations and more time assisting people, and the City has spearheaded this initiative. But I think the biggest bang came from the data conversion. We spent a ton of time making sure the existing data was scrubbed and converted correctly, we really dug into it, and we found access to all of these forgotten citations. There's a windfall of literally millions of dollars there without any tax hike, and this can be put back into much-needed services and resources."
"When we say we focus on the client's bottom line, this is exactly what we mean."
Intrepid Company continues to work with the City on several projects in areas such as project management, systems administration, support, and quality assurance.
